good to see some bike thieves convicted but I reckon this is the tip of the iceberg.

Agreed. It seems that this particular gang have a very specific MO relating to bikes that are advertised for sale.

I've heard (unconfirmed) rumours that there's another group that are going around stealing bikes to order and shipping out to Austria/Hungary who are operating all over the South of England and up into Suffolk/Norfolk areas, not to mention the ever present threat of local scrotes nicking bikes just for shits and giggles...

my bike was stolen a couple years ago and I heard about 2 other dirt bike going on the same night

A newbie I took out recently had his old rat of a DRZ 400 stolen twice. The first time they chopped his locks and rolled it away. The second time they smashed their way into his garage.

Please make your bike's a real pain in the bum to steel. Locks and chains; If you can't run to Pragmasis or Almax, go for as many locks as you can find and make sure you lock your bike to something solid. Also a very good idea to lock other stuff to it; wheelbarrow, ladders, etc., to make it awkward to get at.
