Holes !

Just a heads up folks, while out on the Surrey lanes today we came across a fair few square holes dug in the middle of the lanes, mainly up near Ranmore common, some are about 4' x 4' and a 2' deep, the larger ones are marked off. some just have a stick or a pole in front of them, the smaller ones are not marked at all, but could still cause a nasty off if you don't spot them.
Also some fly tipping going on with a van load of waste at the end of Sheepwalk.

Thanks Stewie for the warning. Could easily be missed I imagine and the consequences don’t bear thinking about!

Steve Sharp led a run when they were digging them up and they were very well marked. I did a run with Dom a week later when the holes appeared. Those lanes are fairly flat and have some guys are pretty quick so almost certainly going to catch someone out. Who is responsible for filling them or marking them out? Happy to go to the relevant council and call out the danger.

Thanks for this info. all issues on byways incl flytipping should be reported the scc via their interactive map, where there is a procedure to report.Its usually very easy to follow the instructions here. They monitor this input ' live' , and can only act if you inform them. Thanks bc
