Buckland Lane, Reigate - Closed.

This lane is now signed as no cars or motorbikes at the south end when the tarmac runs out and the north end (gated and signed) just after the house on the left side of the track, just where the horse field/stables are on the right.

So that's it. No more use for us.

Hi,

Thanks for the post, updates on lanes are always welcome.
Buckland Lane does have a TRO but it's only for vehicles over 1.5m wide and that is the reason why the gates have been put in, as far as we are aware there is no reason for you not to ride it. There has been a long campaign to keep this lane open and it was discussed last night when the core group of the Surrey TRF committee had our quarterly meeting, I'll pop over there tomorrow to check out the signage and will report back.

As Tony says the restriction is on vehicles over 1.5m wide.

Fellow TRF members worked hard to maintain motorcycle access including our “Green Lane Guardian” fir this route, Kev Greening, who organised a lane clearing session.

Do the signs indicate motorcycles are prohibited, as if so, I think they are wrong. Can you share a photo?

I went over to Buckland Lane today and it is wrongly signposted at both ends.

Despite the current signage motorcycles have the right to use this lane and this issue will be raised by Brian Cohen at our meeting with Surrey CC on Monday.

I was at this lane last night and wasnt sure if its OK to ride it or not. Would you say wait til the signs are corrected before using it or just use it and if people object tell em the signs are wrong?

In order to clarify the situation regarding Buckland Lane. It is OK for you to ride, the signs are incorrect and should be ignored!

Ah. Ok Buckland Lane starts as Lawrence Lane. Great route when riding from Reigate to Bockets.
