Biker Down Course
I attended the ‘Biker Down ‘ course last week, run at the Guildford Fire Station, in conjunction with the Wey Valley Advanced M/C group. The session was well attended, but I think I was the only TRF member there, and although it was road orientated, I can really recommend this course for anyone riding the trails. We all ride the tarmac roads too, of course! Its always good to know what to do if that ‘event’ arises.
The course was broken into 3 sections, the first covered assessment of the accident scene, and how to respond , the second was a ‘hands-on’ session to deal with basic medical procedures, and the third was a basic introduction by WVAM of advanced riding techniques to prevent the first 2 eventualities happening in the first place. The course is free, 3 hours long, with tea and biscuits provided, but a small donation is welcomed to the Fire Service, who put on a really good event, carried out in good humour, and who made it very enjoyable. I know some members have done this course already, and I strongly recommend more riders take it up, it might help in the event of an ‘off’. (I think they run the course twice a year, p.m. me for contact details of the organiser you cannot find it online, but WVAM probably publicise it through their website).
Thanks B.C.

Re: 'Biker Down' Course
Thanks Brian for the report. Tony organised one if these just for club members, if there is interest we could look to do that again.
