Enduro Bike Insurance

Postby Larry » Tue May 07, 2013 3:37 pm

I'm now storing my enduro bike in a different location to my road bike and MCE are telling me I need 2 separate policies to cover them - they won't let me insure them on the one policy. So:

- is this the same for all insurance companies, or can anyone recommend me some companies who will insure 2 bikes kept at 2 different addresses?

- can anyone recommend anyone cheap for Enduro bike insurance as I'll have zero NCB if I need a separate policy?

Cheers

Sounds weird. Normally an insurer will ask 'is this bike stored at the home address?'

So which you reply 'no, a secure lock up' provide details and hey presto!

I insure with Adrian Flux who are amazingly flexible and cheap for multi bike policies I've found, which is great coz I have a few. (cheaper than BikeSure, Devitts and all them.) but they don't offer insurance for riding other people's bikes I don't think.

Just have to ring around.consider moving to a new company if its cheaper as what u save might outweigh the cost of cancellation.

Gotta play the game!

When you say enduro bike, is it road legal and road registered? If it is don't mention enduro or greenlaning, insurance companies should treat them the same as any other road legal road registered bike.

I insure my KTM 400EXC and Aprilia road bike with Aviva on a dual bike policy...

Sorry cant help if its an unregistered, non road legal enduro bike..

Yes, its a road legal enduro bike. I didn't mention anything about greenlaning - they just seem to have a problem insuring 2 bikes at 2 different addresses on 1 policy.

I only mentioned 'enduro' bike insurance in case I need to take out a 2nd policy, does anyone know any enduro-bike specialists who are cheap. But I found a quote from bikesure.co.uk for £174 with zero NCB. Bargain! :)

Time to change company. ALWAYS shop around. Every company is different as they have different brokers (is that the right word?).

BikeSure/Adrian Flux also gave me my best quote too and a 10% discount for being a member of the XRV forum.
