When I tried the same trick, I found the pressure washer worked fine as long as the tank outlet was above the washer - gravity sucks you know!

I don't think you'd get 20psi - even from a mains supply?

What scuppered my plans in the end, was my electric generator - not enough beans to drive the pressure washer (or the compressor). Now the bike stays muddy for quite a while............

Ppl I know normally just have a Karcher hooked up to a big drum of water in the back if the van.

Not heard anyone say 'hey buddy can you recommend a water pump for my water pump?' before.

Most (if not all) pressure washers will happily draw from a container in a van once they can syphon. I just poke a few feet of my hose down into the barrel then bend the hose near the connector to close it off. Withdraw hose,making sure the open end stays in the water, and lower the closed-off end to near your washer. Unfold the end and you should have a syphon going. Plug onto washer and, erm, wash.

Easier to do then describe I'm afraid. Practice a bit and you'll hook your washer up in way shorter time than it took to type this

Another option is to fit a tap and hose connector to your barrel but I'm not a great fan of this as if it gets knocked, the barrel can empty into you van before you can say "oh fcuk ! all my gear's p1ss-wet-through"

Most of the time, I use a couple or more 25lt containers but I also have a 200lt barrel. 100lts is ample to get a bike clean with my petrol washer.
