Hi all, a few weeks back i busted the clamp that holds the clutch assembly to the bars off. I have a KTM EXC 250 2 stroke. I ordered the replacement clamp which comes with the cylinder assembly and lever etc. Got a bleed kit (syringe) so I could 'reverse bleed' (advice from the chap where I ordered the replacement part) the clutch to force through the air etc.
I have replaced everything trouble is I have no resistance on the clutch and the clutch doesn't seem to have any effect. Not sure what to do from here other than take it to a shop and get them to sort BUT having brought the bike I'm pretty determined to do my own work so don't want to chuck it in too early. Anyone got any hints tips or even videos off youtube on what to do next? Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers
John

Re: Clutch Problems
Did you put the little pin in between the lever and the clamp ?

Re: Clutch Problems
yes I have definitely got that in place. If i release the bleed nut and pump the clutch, fluid comes out of the area by the bleed nut

Re: Clutch Problems
I would put a post on the KTM forum, lots of people on there that know what they are talking about.
In fact just search `clutch bleeding`,lots of info on this is there already

Re: Clutch Problems
This dude is not actually reverse bleeding the clutch with a syringe, but a interesting method of clutch bleeding nevertheless.
PS... Do NOT pull your clutch lever with the slave cylinder off or you will damage/pop off the O-Ring of the slave cylinder!

Re: Clutch Problems
Just drain and start again, make sure that the fluid is not to cold ( leave it bowl of warm water for a while ), if all the seals are good, and I think the slave is a single seal, and you have no resistance it can only be air gap in the system.

Off the beaten track!.

Thanks to all. Will drain and try again Friday. If it remains the same will employ the services of a man that can.
