New member - intro & planning

Postby stek » Sat Feb 01, 2014 12:18 am

Hi,

I'd like to introduce myself and hopefully be active part of the group in the future.

I have started greenlining a couple of months ago, after purchasing a gasgas EC300.
I have been - on my own, not having friends in this line of interest - around box hill and bordering areas, and I love
both the 2 wheels aspect as much as exploring and getting to know the countryside.

I am keen to continue this activity with other fellow bikers. Unfortunately family commitments sometimes
dictate that I can be "operational" on Saturday/Sunday not before 11:00 am (I know, that's late!..).

If there is anyone willing to meet / guide in the coming weeks, I 'd like to get in touch. This Sunday 2nd February I can be in Box hill area from around 11:30.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome!

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help you at such short notice, if no one comes forward please re-advertise giving greater notice. Best place would probably be the rides section and request a run leader section of the forum.

I will be able to help you out once my bike is MOT'd, so it should be a in a couple of weeks. I will also advertise it as a run and invite some others along. PM or EM me with dates that you can make from 15/2 on wards.

Please also have a look at our new members info sheet at the start of this section.

See you on the trail soon.. Is Rykas open yet?

Cheers
Steve

I'm out and about tomorrow, just done the fork seals, may well have Andrew with me on his XR125.

Andrew's learning some routes, so won't be a fast one, but your more than welcome to tag along, and goes without saying that applies to anyone else as well, as long as it's no more than 4. :D

I've PM my phone No over.

Stek
Welcome! One option would be for you to meet a group at lunchtime. Local runs often end up a Newlands Corner for lunch.

Yes Rykas has reopened!

Good to meet you Stek, the weather and the lanes were spot on today :D . But most of all are fellow lane users were all nice as pie, nods and waves from the walkers, lots of MTBer's out there on some Orienteering event, all very pleasant and the horse riders stopping for a chat. It's amazing how bit of sunshine can put people in a better frame of mind :D .
Stek had to peel off at Newlands, but we managed to get a few lanes in, including London lane :D .
Andrew will put some footage together from his many cameras, but in the meantime here's a few pics of the lanes we did after Newlands :D .

The theme of the day was mainly water

It was Andrews 3rd time out on his XR125, which I must say is a cracking little bike :D .

See you all on the lanes :D

Thats a good video, now just overdub the sound with some "Steppinwolf - Born to be wild" and that could be a link all potential newbies could be directed too. Well done
