Look to be made by maxxis - tread is the same as maxxis. £78.99 a pair delivered. I'm going to try them and report back - but if anyone else has tried them any views??

Get the view from Strongbow. He had a rear One of these last Sunday, for the first time. He seamed happy with the grip off road, but wary that the profile of the tyre is odd (makes for a larger diameter wheel overall)....

I've ordered a front only as I still have two rear maxxis to use up. Can't complain at £37 delivered! They seem to have good reviews.

Re: Cst surge trail tyres
Yeah OK. Coz we do a lot of miles on the trails and none of it demands epic quality tyres. As long as the tread is a decent pattern and lasts as long as a maxxis I'd be happy to switch. I always found my Michelin tyres wore down pretty quick.

Re: Cst surge trail tyres
Hi just put a pair on my xr400, they are Maxxis, only with thicker side walls 4 X ply ( instead of 2) So a Bit heavier than the the Maxxis but stronger for off road work. They need a little time to bed in for road use (about 20- 30 miles) then grip fairly well. Also I found getting the pressure on the back down to 15 - 18 psi made then much better all-round. In summery about the same prise as the maxxis, same quality just a bit heaver but stronger sidewalls. I have the maxxis on A Bultaco Alpina so have a reasonable basis for comparison, except at high speed as The old Taco only gets to about 45mph, (off road it gives a mighty good performance!) Hope this may help anyone thinking about getting some.
P.S The thinker side wall is meant to help prevent punctures.

Just getting back from weekend in France - all I can say is that the surge was the nuts - the grip was cracking. Will definitely switch.
